VOLUNTEER WITH US!
Elora Farmers market was founded in 2005. It runs from May until Thanksgiving at Bissel Park in Elora (27 E Mill Street). It moves to The Jefferson Centre in Elora for the remainder of Oct until Christmas. The market does not run from Christmas until May.
In 2023 we became an official non-profit corporation run by a volunteer board of directors made up of vendors, community members, and supported by a market manager. We are a true Farmers Market meaning more than 51% of the vendors are made up of farmers. Vendors include farmers, growers, artisans, makers, and bakers from Centre Wellington.
Our goals are:
To provide food and support food security in the Centre Wellington Community.
To provide a showcase and retail outlet for local farmers, food producers, artisans, makers, and bakers.
To offer a place where the community comes together with the people who produce their food.
To be an integral part of the culture of the community of Centre Wellington.
Volunteers are ambassadors (representatives of the market) and are needed every Saturday to help keep the market running smoothly. Volunteers can pick their own schedule according to their availability (Ex. every Sat, bi-weekly, or once a month). They can be of any age or physical ability, although some jobs require physical lifting. Volunteers should be prepared for all kinds of weather as the market runs rain or shine.
